Hear it from the heart:
Testimonial video from Whiti Hereaka

The search for the right photographer

Hear first-hand from acclaimed author Whiti Hereaka who had searched for a photographer who was able to capture images she would love and could use to help her promote her own work.

Whiti's images by Tabitha have featured across national and international media now, including The Guardian, to promote her book.

A year after having her first photoshoot with Tabitha, Whiti returned to for more promotional images, as well as personal branding photos for her new website.

“I did what you’re probably doing right now! I did a bit of research to try and find the right photographer.

I had a look online, I talked to people who had beautiful headshots and asked them who had done their headshots and Tabitha’s name came up … I just loved her work.”

“If you’re considering working with Tabitha, I would recommend her wholeheartedly.

In fact, I would go and have another shoot with her today, if I could.”

“When I arrived at the studio I felt so welcomed, which put me in a lovely relaxed state. I warned Tabitha before I arrived that sometimes in photoshoots in the past I have frozen, or started being silly or hammy in front of the camera because I felt nervous.

But I didn’t have the worry about that with Tabitha … she knows the techniques to put you at ease to break through the nervous energy.”

We might just be a good fit… Let’s make a time to chat.

“It had been about a decade since I last had headshots … I wanted someone who could also do theatrical / fashion / editorial photos as well”

“I think the best thing for you would be to make an appointment and have a yarn with her on the phone. See if you, too, will vibe with her as well.”

“Partly for publicity and partly I wanted to celebrate the work I had put into (my book) Kurungaituku. I wanted to capture that moment in time.”
